Our company owner, James Pratten, founded the business in Bath in 2015 with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. We became a registered limited company in 2023.
We are proud to say that we have developed a reputation for excellence and are now considered a trusted, reliable and knowledgeable team of experts in stone restoration, architectural stonework and specialist stone cleaning not just in the architecturally important Heritage City of Bath itself, but across the wider region of north Somerset and Wiltshire.
We’ve built up a portfolio of projects that demonstrate our expertise and dedication to working in stone conservation and preservation – something we feel passionate about. Our work, which we carry out with care, attention and precision, extends the lifespan of our beautiful historic stone buildings, protecting them for future generations to enjoy.

Our skilled team includes banker, fixer and carver masons, all keen to work on projects of any size involving stone cleaning and restoration, or enhancing new builds with hand-crafted creative stone architectural detailing and features.
We are fortunate to be able to live and work in a historically and culturally rich part of the UK where we have plenty of opportunities to work with sophisticated and often delicate interior and exterior stonework.
We have particular expertise in cleaning, restoring, cutting and carving the locally quarried iconic Bath stone, which has been used for construction in and around the Bath area since ancient Roman times – and is still being utilised today.

One of the most gratifying aspects of our work is the appreciation of our many clients – the owners and/or managers of the heritage buildings, period properties, private homes and commercial sites who rely on us to enhance and maintain the stonework that makes their premises unique and special.
We receive consistently positive feedback online through platforms like Google and directly to our office, and we get plenty of new work through word-of-mouth recommendation.
We have restored the facades of many elegant Georgian townhouses in central Bath; repaired historic landmarks like the Bath stone folly on the Hiatt Baker Estate near Bristol; fixed crumbling chimneys; redesigned and rebuilt a countryside stone bridge; and even crafted and installed a massive 6-meter diameter water fountain in the grounds of a grand estate.
If you’re planning a restoration, cleaning, or conservation project, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us today to discuss how we can bring your vision to life.
